Our hand-tooled leather portrait charms are created using techniques that date back centuries. Each piece begins as a blank disc of premium leather. Using beveling tools, swivel knives, and stamping irons, our artisans carve your pet's portrait in relief—a process that can take 8-12 hours for a single charm.
Round or Oval: Framing Matters
We offer two classic shapes: round medallions and oval pendants. Round frames create a formal, almost coin-like quality—think ancient Roman portraiture. Oval frames offer slightly more space for capturing head tilt and neck curve, making them ideal for dogs with longer snouts or cats with distinctive ear positions.
Both shapes come with hand-stitched edges and antique brass hardware. The loop is reinforced to withstand daily wear—these are designed to be used, not displayed.
Where Will They Travel?
Leather charms are endlessly versatile. Clip them to your handbag as a zipper pull. Thread them onto your keychain so they come home with you every day. Attach them to your dog's collar so your current companion carries the memory of the one who came before. Some clients even commission multiples—one for each family member.
